Saudi imports down 3.2% in June – GaStat
Electric machines and equipment topped the imports to Saudi Arabia

Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia announced that its imports decline by 3.2% or SAR 1.12 billion in June 2018 when compared to the same month a year ago, according to the latest data by the Saudi General Authority for Statistics (GaStat).

Imports value in the kingdom decreased to SAR 34.21 billion in June 2018 from SAR 35.32 billion in the corresponding month in 2017, GaStat added.

On a monthly basis, imports to Saudi Arabia shrank by 22.7% when compared to SAR 10.05 billion in May 2018.

Electric machines and equipment topped the imports to the oil-rich kingdom with a total value of SAR 7.62 billion in June 2018, up 0.7% from SAR 7.57 billion in June 2017.

In June 2018, the GCC nation has imported from five major countries, including China with SAR 5.51 billion, followed by the UAE with SAR 4.25 billion imports, the UAE with SAR 3.2 billion, Germany with SAR 1.65 billion, and India with imports worth SAR 1.35 billion.
